There is a right emotion and reaction for every circumstances. You need to react the right way and feel the right way so that your mind will be able to think that right way and do what is needed to put yourself on a better position.
If you need to be calm then stay calm. A lot of people were in a panic mode when danger and pressure is there, that makes them look stupid, that makes them make the wrong moves which turns into disaster. Calmness is a skill that you should develop so that you will have a better life, so that you will be able to think clearly when tragedy is there. You can't get carried away with your emotions or else you will end up on an ugly spot, something that I'm sure you will not like.
If there is someone bothering you, let's say that your neighbor is too noisy and disrespectful, how will you react? are you going to argue with them or fight them? the best thing to do is stay calm. Being quiet doesn't mean that you are afraid, it's the best thing to do. Always remember that he who can endure will always win. Your neighbor will not act like that forever, one day he all of his antics will go back to him. Do you think that being noisy will help anyone? of course not, a crazy life style will never last, one day he will become broke because he is too busy doing stupid things, one day his life will become miserable because he's not doing the right things, it will all accumulate until his life gets worse and worse. It's not about wishing anyone bad luck, but the reality is... if you keep doing stupid things then one day your life will suck.
Just keep quiet and focus your vision to the bigger things, focus on your goals. If you focus all of your energy and power into something more meaningful then you will have a much better life.
Pick the right emotion, you can't just be berserking or exploding like a wild monkey every time you feel disrespected or humiliated. Your life depends on how you feel, you can feel good in any kind of situation.
You can feel good during traffic, you can feel good during pressure times, you can feel good even if bad things were happening to you. Some people can't pick the right emotions that's why they always find themselves on a bad spot.
Never panic, always stay calm, never react on things that are nonsense and has no benefits. Always remember that you only have one life, don't waste it for nothing, don't waste it for things that will not even contribute to your growth.
You will feel bad, you cannot always feel good, but you can remind yourself that you're reacting to something that will never even make your life better then you can change your situation easily.
If your professor humiliates you then just laugh at it. If a group of big boys are trying to bully you then just stay calm, don't talk, don't move, just stay calm. They will never touch you if you will stay calm, feel nothing about it, you will never die, don't listen to them, just keep doing what you're doing and they will stay away from you. Treat them like dead, create you own energy, create your own circle. Always remember that there is a right time for domination, if they are dominating you now... just work hard and you will have your turn. Don't look for revenge, just work hard and make yourself better. Just ignore them and never think about them, if you can feel nothing towards them then they will never be able to affect you.
