I have a lot of classmates back in high school that the expectations were so high of them. Most people thinks that they are going to become successful, it's because they have high grades and they are ranking at the top. But where are they now? not so successful, some are even bums. They graduated in a popular university in college but still they're only goon in papers, they can't make big results, they couldn't even make their small dreams come true. It only shows that ranking is overrated, it is nothing, it's just a number, it's just a position. A lawyer who passed the bar exam and got the highest grade will never get the highest salary, a number one team in the NBA in regular season games is not yet sure to win the championship. You can become the number one for now but can you win it all? can you claim the victory in the end? It's the reality a lot of number one teams has been upset during the most important games, a lot of number one politicians in survey didn't win. Ranking is overrated, never get intimidated by a number one ranking person because that person hasn't proved anything yet.
SUCCESS CAN BE LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE
You can have all the highest grades, strongest hype and formal education but if you don't have the right experience then you will never win. You have to experience something and learn from it in order to become successful. Success is not about what you know, it's about what you can prove. You can become the smartest guy in the room but if you don't know how to adapt and embrace any pressure situation then you're not going to thrive. So if you want to become a winner in life... experience a lot of things, be willing to bleed and give your best, you need to have a winner's mentality, you need to fight until the end. Most people were just good in the beginning but they couldn't even finish. Life is a long journey, you need to be patient, your time will come, you may not be the most popular person as of now and people were not rooting for you but you can change your fate and surprise them with your results.
IT'S OK TO BECOME AN UNDERDOG
It's ok if people already counted you out, it's ok if they don't believe in you. For as long as you believe in yourself and you're really working hard... you will win, you don't need to make a hype now, you don't need to become ultra popular. Just be yourself and grind, this is not a race, this is a marathon, it's not how fast you are, it's how tenacious you are. If you know where you're going... you will get there no matter how slow you are. Direction is better than speed, most people who are making hypes now didn't win in the end because their heads become big. It's ok if nobody cares about you, for as long as you care for your goal and you believe you can do it... you will win, hard work will outlast anyone, your time will come if you wait for it.
Not all the time you will look as an underdog, time will come and they will believe in you because you're winning in your own way, you are thriving little by little and you're making a name for yourself.
A WOUNDED DOG IS DANGEROUS
If you're dying for your dreams, if you're bleeding and not minding losing over and over again... you will win, if you are giving your life for something and still you can't make it work... don't worry because it's only just a matter of time before you win. A wounded dog is dangerous, if you're so hungry and has already been defeated a lot of times... time will come and you will have a breakthrough, you will break the boundaries and resistance, you will get sick and tired of losing and you're going to win. So be happy if you'e bleeding and losing now, be happy if you're at the bottom, always remember that a wounded dog is dangerous, he can win anytime because he has nothing to lose. All you have to do is try and try again, keep pushing... be relentless as you can be and success will come into your life.
THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TALENT
Talent is overrated, most people think that talent will make anyone succeed but it's not. Some people think that they are not talented and that is why they can't become successful, some people think that they are too talented and that they don't have to work hard anymore but later they will found out that their talents didn't take them too far, they didn't achieve anything. Never believe in talent, you can develop any skill you want, it's just a matter of repetition and not getting sick and tired of being consistent. Anybody can say he is talented but at the end of the day, it all goes to whether he prove something or not. You can say you are talented but did you prove something already? did you manage to show some shades of greatness?
If you will rely on pure talent alone you will never go further, you have to rely purely on hard work and dedication. Keep pushing because every time you do it you go to a different level.
YOU ARE BORN TO SHINE
If somebody did it you can do it too, you can shine in your own way, you can create your own path, you can build an empire and be the king of it. Everyone can shine so never sell yourself short. You can do it if you really want it, all it takes is perseverance and belief in yourself. Never get insecure with other people who are succeeding, never get jealous with their success, you can create your own success too. Never mind those people who are making it in life fast, you have your own timing, you have your own path, focus on your own journey and be the best that you can be, give your full maximum effort and simply do whatever it takes to win, if you're doing something now and you're dead serious about succeeding... you will succeed, as simple as that.
