Depression is a very dangerous state, once your mind is blackened and poisoned by it... its's hard to make a comeback. You're like trapped in a quicksand and you can't find a way how to get out from it. No matter how hard you try you can't figure out how to change your state, you entertain a lot of dramas, you're looking for sympathy, you want people to recognize your pain and you are rejecting every good advises that they are giving to you because you feel that they can't understand you. You are starting to act like a drama superstar that doesn't know how to sell tickets, you want to be the center of attention but you don't have anything good to offer. You have this dark energy that makes people sick and tired of you. And even if there is a chance to move on and create something so that you will feel much better... you still don't want to move because you're so addicted to your dramas and excuses.
THERE ARE THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO AVOID TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION:
1. Rushing. You're rushing all the time to feel good, what you don't know is that every time you rush bad things happen, every time you try to make a short cut you are only putting yourself on a worse position. That's why people who take drugs and alcohol become depressed even more, they always look for the good feelings, they try to numb the pain by taking substances that are only making their case worse. They think that drugs or alcohol makes them forget their problems but the reality is they're only setting themselves up on a loop that has no ending. They repeat the same pattern over and over again and they can't escape depression.
You don't need to rush to feel good, if you are sad now... suck it up, embrace it, ignore it and remind yourself that you are ok and you don't need anything to feel good. Once you detach yourself from neediness then you are free, you will feel good in just a matter of time. Because the real root of depression is wanting something that you can't get. You don't need anything to feel happiness, once you accept this theory you will be set free.
2. Procrastinating. Procrastination is a dangerous trap, you feel like doing nothing and you're so addicted to it. You don't want to move, you just want to think. You know in yourself that there is something you need to do but you procrastinate and believe that you will do it later. The more you postpone something the stronger the depression will be. Just do something, stop waiting for the right time, stop thinking if you are right or wrong... do something now and entertain yourself by being active. Procrastination amplifies depression because a lot of things will run inside of your head, you will worry more, you will become scared even more, you will invent a lot of harmful thoughts that were not even real. The more you waste your time, the bigger your problem will be. Sometimes you don't even have a problem but because you worry too much and think too much... it turns into anxiety that leads to depression.
Run outside if you don't know what to do, draw your dog, paint your house, cook lasgana or something even if you don't know how to, apply for a job that you don't know, play with your life and give yourself a chance to succeed, pursue an impossible goal, join the triathlon even if you don't know how to swim, act like you know everything and apply for a CEO job, be playful with your life and never be afraid to fail. Remember that this is just a game and you should learn how to play and enjoy your chosen game. Movement creates improvement, stop procrastinating and make yourself busy with something positive so that you will have a direction.
3. Stopping. Stopping what made you successful before. Stopping your life, stopping your work, stopping everything because you have a self made problem. Life is all about moving, every time you stop what made you successful before... you're in big trouble, your state will change, the chemistry of your body will change, your world will stop and a sad and lazy word is welcoming your arrival. Don't stop the good momentum that you have even if you have a problem. If your work is good and suddenly your boyfriend cheats on you, don't stop your work, keep working so that something positive will still occupy your mind and it will be easy for you to move on. Never stop, keep moving forward all the time so that your mind will be on the right place.
Always choose action over reaction, stop reacting to things, choose action instead and never worry about the bad things that are happening, stop reacting to your problems negatively and choose the option of solving it. The key here it to move forward and do something positive, don't worry about what people might say, what on their minds is none of your business, you can become really happy by just enjoying yourself and being passionate on something.
PAIN IS SELF INFLICTED
Sometimes your problem is not really a problem, and even if it is a problem... it's too small but you're making it big by dwelling on it too much and looking for things and excuses that makes it even bigger. You are the creator of your life, you inflict your own pain because of your softness and being too picky in life. It is what it is, embrace what is going on with your life now and never try to change it if you can't control it, instead try to grow from it and look for the lessons that you can squeeze from it. Control your mind, change your perspective and pain will go away. Depression comes from trying to please people and you can't, trying to become a winner but you keep on losing, trying to become popular and accepted but you feel no one is accepting you, or maybe your standards were too high and you want everything to become perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect life, the best skill you can ever teach yourself is adapting and embracing any situation. You don't need anything in life, all you need is air and sunlight. Life is too simple if you will avid everything that complicates it. There is no pressure at all, no pressure to become the best, just give your best and forget the outcome, forget the external things that is outside of your control and depression will be cured. So what if you can't have it? so what if nobody likes you? if you can love and accept yourself then you don't need anything anymore, celebrate your life, be the happiest as you can be and it will only happen if you will appreciate everything that you have.
