Don't be too technical, if you're doing it then you will have a hard time following your gut and intuition. It's not all about being technical, it's all about following what your heart is telling you to do so. You can play a guitar and make some good sounds without even knowing the chords, scales, notes etc. You can play good music if you will just listen to it closely and play what sounds good to your ears. You don't need to be a genius or beethoven to play good music, just play with your heart and you will be able to produce good music.
This can be applied to anything, for as long as it is working then it is right. If it doesn't feel good and it's not producing any result then it is wrong... very very wrong.
There are lot of technical guys out there who thinks that they are perfect, they think that they are the only ones who know what is right but if you will look at their work and lives... they are not even close to perfect, they don't even have the results that you wanted to see.
Being technical doesn't mean being great, you can be a freestlyer and still produce some dope stuffs. You can do it your way for as long as you're having fun and nothing bad is going on around you. Be free, don't follow the technical side too much, if you don't want to be technical so don't be like it.
You have your own way, you can make your own judgement. Don't be like others who were all followers, you can be a renegade, you can do the opposite way. It's really up to you. If you don't feel good about a specific process then don't do it, it can be technical and full of details but if it sounds boolsheet to you then stop doing it because it will only stress you. Do what you feel is right, you have the authority to do it.
