Controlling too much is a big problem. If you are always trying to control the outcome or situation then you will just go crazy. And the truth is.. you cannot control everything, you cannot control how other people think or feel, just let them be. The best solution is to let go. Once you learn how to let go then you will be fine, you will have some peace of mind. Your worries will go away and fear will subside.
Just let other people criticize you if they want, don't dwell with them, don't argue with them. If they have something to say against you... let them be, that is their opinion and everyone is entitled of his own opinion, you cannot stop their negativity. All you can do is focus on your own life and do what makes you happy.
If there is a noise outside of your house and you have no power to control it... let it be. Don't fight it just let it be. There are some things that are outside of your power and you will only feel powerless even more if you are getting mad about the things that you can't control.
It's like letting the sun shine on it's own and clouds pour rain into your roof. Accept that there are some things that are far beyond your control and you cannot do something about it. You cannot stop the lightning from striking, you cannot stop problems to visit your life. All you can do is let them be and find thoughts that will make you feel better.
Revise what you think about a certain thing, just think that everything happens for a reason and you can find solutions to every problem.
If you will keep on being a control freak then you will never be happy in your life, you will always be distracted, you will always feel bad about small things that you can't control. You will see negativity everywhere.
Recognize the real problem, recognize what you can't control and focus and what you can control.
