You complicate your life because there is too much going on inside of your head. You entertain a lot of ideas and techniques that you will just do for a few days but if it didn't impress you or made you feel that it is working then you will change direction again. You will find another technique again and you will hope again that it will work this time, if it didn't work, then you go back to zero again. The cycle never ends, you got older but your progress is lesser. You are trapped in a vicious cycle that will go to nowhere.
Life will become very simple if you will follow a game plan and then just do it. Your game plan should be bold, realistic, doable and will make you progress a little bit. That's it, that's how simple life is, that's how simple pursuing a goal is. Make a layout, follow it and never change direction.
You will only change if the nature forces you to change and not because of your own decision. It is like "Ok, I am all in, it is either I die or succeed, I will continue following my game plan and I will stick to it no matter what".
Reasons why people always change their game plans:
1. The going gets tough - they thought that their game plans isn't working so they change it right away, they go to different direction because they cannot endure the lack of progress anymore, sometimes progress cannot be felt right away, sometimes it takes a lot of time. It takes a lot of patience, your game plan won't work if you will not believe in it and live with it. You have to trust your game plan, work on it and even die for it. There is no plan B here, and if there is, the plan B is to execute the plan A. Love your game plan even if it is not giving you result for the moment, the result will show itself once you show that you are truly committed and you didn't change your mind.
2. They got jealous with other game plans - when they saw that others' game plan is working, they will be tempted to copy it. What they don't know is that others' game plan might not be compatible with them, they can follow every details of others' game plan but if they don't like it or it is not paralleled to their personality... they won't be doing it for a very long time, the result is another change of game plan again, back to zero again. They already got confused and sometimes confusion will lead to quitting.
3. They were not really committed from the start - they don't have a made up mind, they always think of "If this didn't work I will try a different game plan, if this didn't give me fast result I will quit". The already have a back up plan even if the journey hasn't started yet. They were not very serious, all they want is how to get rewards without sacrificing for it.
4. A bandwagoner mindset - they just follow the crowd and they are not proud of their own game plan. They leave their own ideas and follow others because they don't want to be left behind. They were afraid of critics, they don't want to stand up for their own. They just play it safe because they were so afraid of humiliation and mockery from other people, especially if their game plan isn't working.
